Combined genetic polymorphisms and environmental factors in the etiology of a chronic TMJD murine model

چکیده
Background TNFR1 and TNFR2 are receptors for the pro-inflammatory chemokine TNFa. Inflammation of the temporomandibular joint (TMJ) and hypersensitivity were induced in mice lacking both TNFa receptors (TNFR1/R2 -/-). After recovery from this initial priming TMJ insult lasting less than a week, a gastrointestinal (GI) chemical irritation is administered 3 weeks later. This “double-hit” initiates a recrudescence of inflammation and hypersensitivity persisting at least 18 weeks.

Background and purpose: Asthma is a chronic inflammatory disease of the airways that is caused by hypersensitivity to environmental allergens. Symptoms of asthma include shortness of breath, airway hyper-responsiveness, wheezing, and cough. The disease might vary from a mild to severe and intermittent to chronic disease. Asthma is known as a multifactorial disease due to the interaction of gene...
متن کاملAnalysis of IL-33 Gene Polymorphisms (rs1157505C/G and rs11792633C/T) and the Risk of Tuberculosis in Southeastern Iran
Tuberculosis is a vagarious infectious disease that generally affects the lungs. Accordingly, in some cases, it can also affect the liver and kidney. Host genetic may affect tuberculosis caused by bacillus Mycobacterium tuberculosis. The main risk factors for the disease are a weakened immune system because of diabetes, some cancers, HIV/AIDS, severe kidney disease, cancer treatment, a...
متن کاملAdditive effect of MTHFR and GRIN1 genetic polymorphisms on the risk of schizophrenia
Schizophrenia is a complex disorder with polygenic inheritance. The MTHFR gene (OMIM: 607093) plays an important role in the folate metabolism. It has been suggested that C677T (rs1801133) and A1298C (rs1801131) genetic polymorphisms in the MTHFR gene lead to the decreased activity of the methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase enzyme which may have significant effect on developing schizophrenia. W...
متن کاملP-233: Study of Chromosomal Alterations and Polymorphisms of MTHFR, Factor V and Prothrombin Genes in Patients with Recurrent Miscarriage Referred to Royan Institute
Background: Recurrent miscarriage (RM) is defined as two or more consecutive pregnancy losses before 20 weeks of gestation as an important clinical problem, with an incidence of 1-3% among couples wishing to have children. There are several factors in the etiology of recurrent miscarriage. One of the main genetic causes which involve in the pathogenesis of RM is balanced chromosomal rearrangeme...
متن کاملAssociation study of two single nucleotide polymorphisms rs10757278 and rs1333049 with atherosclerosis, a case-control study from Iraq
Atherosclerosis is one of the most important coronary artery disease (CAD) caused by lipid accumulation, hypertension, smoking, and many other factors such as environmental and genetic factors. It has been recorded that genetic variations in rs10757278 and rs1333049 are correlated with CAD. In the present study, 100 blood samples were collected (50 CAD patients and 50 appeared to be healthy con...
